Privacy Policy
IpsumForge is engineered from the ground up with a simple principle: your generated text, custom configurations, and workflow belong exclusively to you.
100% Client-Side Engine
All text generation algorithms run directly in your local browser sandbox. No generated copy ever touches our servers.
No Account or PII Required
No sign-ups, no email harvesting, no password vaults. Open the tool and generate without disclosing personal identity.
Your Storage, Your Control
Settings like Dark/Light theme and generator history live in your own `localStorage`. You can wipe it anytime with one click.
1. Overview & Core Privacy Promise
Welcome to IpsumForge ("we," "our," or "us"), accessible via https://ipsumforge.com. IpsumForge is dedicated to providing high-performance placeholder text generation, typography testing, and developer tooling without compromising your personal privacy.
This Privacy Policy details how we handle information when you visit and interact with our application. Unlike traditional cloud software platforms, IpsumForge is architected as a client-side utility. We do not maintain user databases, we do not require account registration, and we do not sell or monetize personal browsing profiles.
2. Client-Side Generation & Zero Data Storage
When you use our generator to produce Latin passages, themed dummy copy (e.g. Technology, Space, Pirate, Corporate), HTML structures, Markdown blocks, or JSON payloads:
- Zero Backend Ingestion: The dictionary compilation, pseudo-random sentence construction, and formatting transformations are executed exclusively in your web browser via client-side JavaScript.
- No Keystroke or Prompt Logging: Parameters such as paragraph counts, sentence constraints, custom prefixes, or specific word counts are processed locally in RAM and are never transmitted to our web servers.
- Offline Capability: Once loaded, the generator operates independently of network connectivity.
3. Local Browser Storage & Preferences
To provide a seamless developer experience, IpsumForge may read and write non-sensitive configuration keys to your browser's standard window.localStorage. These include:
| Key Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| ipsumforge-theme | Stores your light or dark mode visual preference | Persistent (until cleared) |
| ipsumforge-last-config | Saves your preferred generator parameters (e.g., word count, format) | Persistent (until cleared) |
| ipsumforge-recent-history | Caches recent generation snippets for 1-click clipboard recall | Local Session / Max 10 items |
You can clear these values at any moment by clearing your browser site data or cookies, or using Developer Tools (F12 → Application → Local Storage).
4. Telemetry & Analytics
To monitor application uptime, detect broken routes, and optimize page load speeds, we may collect aggregated, non-personally identifiable technical telemetry:
- Aggregate page views, referrer domains, and country-level geographic regions.
- Device platform classification (e.g. Desktop Chrome vs. Mobile Safari).
- Anonymized HTTP access logs (IP addresses are masked or truncated in compliance with EU data minimization requirements).
We do not track individual user identities across multiple domains, build fingerprinting profiles, or sell telemetry data to data brokers.
6. Third-Party CDNs & Infrastructure
Our application is hosted on global edge content delivery networks (such as Vercel, Cloudflare, or AWS Edge). When fetching static assets (e.g. web typography, icons, JavaScript chunks), your browser establishes a secure connection to the edge server closest to you. These edge providers process standard networking headers strictly to serve page assets securely and defend against distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) threats.
7. GDPR, CCPA/CPRA & Global Privacy Rights
Depending on your location, you hold specific statutory rights under data protection legislation, including the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA):
- Right to Know / Access: You may request confirmation of what data (if any) we process concerning you. Because we do not retain account profiles or generated text, no identifying personal records are indexed.
- Right to Erasure / Deletion: You have the right to request deletion of any telemetry logs associated with your identifier.
- Right to Opt-Out of Data Sale / Sharing: We do not sell personal data as defined under the CCPA/CPRA.
- Right to Non-Discrimination: Using privacy extensions, blocking cookies, or exercising statutory rights will never result in degraded access or fees.
8. Data Security & Integrity
All traffic between your browser and IpsumForge is encrypted in transit using industry-standard Transport Layer Security (TLS 1.3 / HTTPS) with strict HSTS policies. We enforce strong Content Security Policies (CSP) to safeguard against cross-site scripting (XSS) and injection vulnerabilities.
9. Children's Privacy
IpsumForge is a general-audience developer and design utility. We do not knowingly solicit, collect, or store personal information from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Union).
10. Policy Updates & Contact
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect enhancements to our toolkit, new features, or legislative revisions. Any modifications will be posted here with a revised "Last Updated" timestamp.
